Michael Doherty, age 42, was born on April 25, 1977 in Camden, AR and passed away on June 10, 2019 in Lemoore, CA.
Michael went by his nickname Mickey, that was given to him by his dad when he was a little boy. Mickey grew up in Bearden, AR where he attended Elementary and High School. He also attended Camden Fairview High School for a short period of time. Anyone who knew Mickey knew about his love for the Arkansas Razorbacks (even when they were losing) and his passion for music. They also knew how much he loved his family and friends. Mickey never met a stranger. He was a true entertainer and always the life of any event. He was a confidant to so many he met across the globe and reached out often just to check in.
Mickey was a resident of Pensacola, FL at the time of his passing, where he was serving in the US Navy as an aviation electronics technician. Mickey joined the Navy in October 2005. After training in Great Lakes, IL he completed tours in San Diego, CA, Lemoore, CA, and Fallon, NV before landing in Pensacola, FL which he considered to be his home. He was proud of his service and reached the rank of First Class Petty Officer.
Mickey was preceded in death by his father Mike Doherty, his mother Barbara Ellen Harville, his grandma and grandpa Doherty, his grandpa Lawson along with many aunts and uncles and cousins.
Survivors include his wife Krystle Doherty of Pensacola, FL, son Ethan Doherty of Fort Bliss, TX, sons Tristan and Joseph "Joey" Doherty of Pensacola, FL, step children Pyper and Tucker Priest of Pensacola, FL, brother Bobby Doherty of Haskell, AR, sister Veronica Wimberly of Hot Springs, AR, brother Jack Doherty of Haskell, AR, step sister Tiffany Cogburn of Monticello, AR, step sister Tamie Jeffus of Hot Springs, AR, step brother Charlie Harville of Bryant, AR, grandmother Joyce Lawson of Bearden, AR, 13 nephews, 8 nieces and a large number of other family members and friends.
Funeral services will be hosted by Proctor Funeral Home in Camden, AR. Funeral services and viewing will be held at First Southern Baptist Church in Bearden, AR on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 10am. Graveside services will follow at Salem Cemetery in Bearden, AR.
