Mary Belle
Dooley
February 10, 1930 — December 30, 2021
Camden
Mary Belle Reynolds Dooley lived her entire life in Camden until her final year when she could no longer live alone. She passed away on December 30, 2021, at the age of 91. She was born on February 10, 1930, in Camden, AR. Her parents, Robert Nason and Mary Belle Belin Reynolds, preceded her in death as did her husband, Joe Dooley and daughter, Molly Rollins.
After working at Hurley and Co. as a young lady, most of Mary Belle's adult life was spent in the office of R.N. Reynolds Contruction Co. It was an old-fashion family-run business and she loved being a part of it (and running things).
Mary Belle and her family were active members of First Presbyterian Church and participated in all its activities. Her father's construction company built the church that stands now.
Some of her activities through the years included Junior Auxiliary, member of the hospital board, P.E.O. bridge club, work for C.D. Sanders, bookkeeping for businesses, and collecting Camark pottery.
Mary Belle was a friendly, sociable, caring person with a wonderful memory of old times and appreciation of family. Interests that revealed her creative talents were needlework, sewing, flower arranging, parties and especially painting. Family members are blessed to have some of her paintings done especially for them. She had a real knack for making pretty things. Also, she was the first to adopt three children in the state of Arkansas.
Mary Belle's siblings (all deceased) were Helen Kisamore, Bob Reynolds, Marian Walker, Ruth Reeves, and Bill Reynolds. She and Joe had three children; Molly Rollins (deceased), Joseph Gates Dooley III (Jay), and Ellen Navejar; grandchildren are Chad and Scott Langford, Cameron Leach, Lindsey, Jonathan, and Grant Dooley and great-grandchildren, Abby, Lizzie, Kate, Ryan, Molly, and Avery.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at 10:00AM at Memorial Park Cemetery with a memorial service following at 11:00AM, at First Presbyterian Church in Camden, AR. In lieu of flowers please make memorials to First Presbyterian Church. Proctor Funeral home is in charge of the arrangements.
