Willis L. "Bill" Massengale, age 89, of Bearden, Arkansas, passed away Sunday October 12, 2025, at Sycamore Ridge Retirement Living in Collierville Tennessee. A Place He Loved. A special thanks to Tammy Mardikian and Patrick & Kayln Katheeder.
Bill is survived by his wife Dixie, his daughter Cindy Magarahan (Tim) of Eads Tennessee, his sister Cissy Breaux (Pat) of Lafayette Louisiana and Sister-In-Law Billie Marie Massengale of Baton Rouge Louisiana. Also surviving are nephews Toby and Dr. Trent Massengale, each of Baton Rouge Louisiana and Brad, Andy, and Ross Breaux all of Lafayette Louisiana. He is preceded in death by his parents, W.L. "Tobe" Massengale and Mary L. Massengale, brother J.L. "Jim" Massengale, and nephew Rick Massengale.
Bill would tell you he lived a blessed life and was very fortunate. He was a devoted husband and a loving and supporting father to his daughter Cindy. He grew up in rural Bearden Arkansas as the son of entrepreneurial parents. Bill worked alongside his father and brother as a road contractor throughout Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas as a proud member of the American General Contractors Association. In retirement, he moved back to Bearden Arkansas to start his second career in Public Service. He served as a Monty Patrol Lieutenant, a Deputy Sheriff of Ouachita County, a Justice of the Peace, the Street Superintendent for the City of Camden, and the County Judge of Ouachita County.
Bill had a love for horses. As a real cowboy, he placed 8th in World in Trail Competition. He was a lifelong Member of the United Methodist Church and supporter of several charities.
The family will receive friends on Thursday October 30th at 11:00AM for a graveside ceremony at Salem Cemetery located at 1689 Ouachita Rd 83, Bearden, AR 71720.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to the Bearden Community Church, 200 N Plum Street, Bearden, AR 71720
