William Barry Lemons, 55, of Camden, AR passed away on June 18, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 30, 1967 in Compton, CA to Jerry and Sharon Sharp Lemons. He is preceded in death by his father, Jerry Lemons, infant brother, Joey Lemons, nephew, Jake Crawford, brother-in-law, Mark Starr; mother-in-law, Marie Moore, and mother-in-law, Merry Etta Moore.
William was a graduate of Hampton High School, Class of 1985. He was a 21 year employee of Centerpoint Energy/Summit Utilities where he was a Construction and Maintenance Crew Leader. He was a long time, faithful member of Frenchport Community Church, where he served on the board.
His children and coworkers often heard him say "improvise, adapt, and overcome." This motto was instilled in him at his first job with Marty Wolfe Construction where he acquired his knowledge and expertise in all aspects of carpentry. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved spending time with his family and friends camping, hunting, fishing, and cruising on the lake. He was very proud of his most recent project, his cabin, aka "The Lazy Lemon" and never missed an opportunity to showcase it. Those who knew him would describe him as loving, patient, hardworking, selfless, caring, and a little stubborn. He was a friend to all and was always willing to offer a helping hand. He will be most remembered as a loving son, brother, uncle, husband, dad, & Poppa to his baby girls.
William is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Leigh Ann Lemons; daughter and son-in-law, Jordan and Jacob Holder; son, Derek Lemons; granddaughters, Annabelle, Brookelynn, and Natalie Holder; mother, Sharon Lemons; sisters, Sherry Starr and Debbie Evans; father-in-law, Donald Moore; and sister-in-law, LaDonna Nix and husband Ronnie. He is also survived by his nieces, Jami Lucas and husband Boone (children Kate, Jax and Kyleigh); Sara Evans; Ashley Askew and husband Jamie (children Maddox, Adilynn, Mason and Brooks); nephews Jarod Evans; Keith Nix and wife Cassi (children Isabella, Elijah, Ethan and Jules); David Nix and wife Camie (children Callie and Riley); Blaine and Justin Starr; and several other family members and friends.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at Proctor Funeral Home from 6:00 - 8:00pm. The service will be held Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Frenchport Community Church followed by interment at Sardis Cemetery in Sparkman, AR.
Serving as pallbearers will be his coworkers: Kavin Arnold, Ricky Block, Jerry Lampkin, Josh Lampkin, Austin Nutt, and Stan Pickett.
Honorary pallbearers: Greg Beaver, Willie Paul Lampkin, Dalton McKelvin, Jim McKelvin, and Tim Sharp.
