William Bradford Atkins Sr. (Billy) went to be with the Lord March 20, 2026 surrounded by his caring wife and children.

Billy was born September 18, 1962 to Charles (Buddy) and Martha Atkins.  He was the youngest of five, and the baby through and through.

Billy started working at Buddy's Wrecker for his dad before he could even see over the steering wheel.  He helped his dad and Lauren build a legacy of trust and community with the business.

He met the love of his life, Lori, in 1982 while working at the Fire Department with Lori's dad Pete.  He served with the volunteer firefighters at the Camden Fire Department for over 37 years. He took his service so seriously that his first date with Lori ended at a house fire.  He took great pride in being able to serve his community anytime there was a need.

Billy and Lori wed in 1983 and built a beautiful life together. They were blessed with three children, Will, Lauren, and Emily and three beautiful granddaughters Peyton, Naomi, and Mary.  He was the epitome of love and generosity.   His granddaughters meant the world to him, and they loved their Pops with all their heart.  His last words to them were to always be kind, Godly girls. He was so proud of the young ladies they are.

Billy served faithfully on the property and security team at Cullendale First Baptist Church.  He was a member for 42 years. He was dedicated to his church and community.  He loved the Lord and served Him unwaveringly.  He found joy in unsparing generosity. He would think nothing of sacrificing for anyone in need.  He truly embraced the spirit of Jesus in his generous, selfless giving.

While we wish we had more time, the Lord was gracious enough to give us two full years of fun, laughs, and extra memories since his diagnosis.  We are grateful for the time we had together.

He is survived by his wife, Lori; children, Will Atkins of Conway, Lauren Atkins of Camden, and Emily Lewis (Jacob) of Benton; grandchildren, Peyton Robertson, Naomi Lewis, and Mary Lewis; siblings, May Atkins of Little Rock, Julie Atkins of Little Rock, and Charlie Atkins (Emily) of Conway; mother-in-law, Polly Williams of Camden;  brother-in-law Kenny Bennett (Jo) of Texarkana and sister-in-law, Karen Bennett of Hope; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Buddy and Martha Atkins of Camden; sister, Jo Smith of Little Rock; father-in-law, Pete Bennett of Camden; and brother-in-law, Harold Bennett of Hope.

The family wants to thank the community and all of those who have carried them in love, prayer, and meals over the past two years.  We would also like to thank the doctors and medical staff who have cared for him.  Your care and support means more than you know.   Thank you to the Camden Fire Department for honoring his legacy.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 25 at 9 a.m. at Cullendale First Baptist Church followed by the service at 10 a.m. and graveside following.
