William Warren Bastress, Jr., age 76 of Jacksonville, AR. went to be his LORD on August 14, 2025. He was born October 26, 1948, in Lancaster, Pa. to William Warren and Jane Bastress.
He lived such an interesting and amazing life that he let our Lord lead him through. He is a University of Texas graduate with a Masters in Logistics. He worked in many industries including Bealls, Wal-Mart (he knew Sam Walton personally), Budweiser in IL, Arkansas Dept of Transportation (Trails and Van Transport) Little Rock. Bill was a Professor of Finance at Webster College in Little Rock, AR.
A conversation with Bill was an adventure you just had to sit back and listen. And do not get him started on BASEBALL…
He is preceded in death by his parents William and Jane Bastress. He is survived by his wife Janice Barron Bastress; one brother David Bastress (Sherry) of Lenexa, KS.; four sons, Michael Bastress of Pittsburgh, Pa., Nickolas Bastress (Nichole) of San Antonia, TX., Timothy Bastress (Sandy) of Granford, TX. and Elliot Bastress (Jessica) of Windemere, Fl.; two stepdaughters , Rena Minor (Brian) and Melissa Foster (Mike) of Camden, AR; grandchildren Indiana and Juniper Bastress of San Antonia, TX. ; step grandchildren; Wesley Andrews (Jena), Jessa Knight, Michaela Foster and Austin Minor (Alec)of Camden, AR. Trevor Green of Fort Riley, KS. ; step great-grandchildren; Raylin, Rheese, Piper, Lawson and Fiona of Camden, AR. and a host of family and friends.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Elite Hospice and The Springs Premier for the excellent care and compassion shown to Bill and his family. A huge thank you to the Jacksonville Fire Department for the many times you were there to help us.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Alzheimer's Arkansas, The Parkinson Foundation or Grace Baptist Church in the name of Bill Bastress.
A Celebration of Bill's Life will be held on Aug. 20,2025 at 2:00 pm at Grace Baptist Church, 1505 California St. Camden, AR 71701. Visitation will be held 1:00-2:00pm before the service. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
