William L. Barkhimer passed away August 3rd, 2024 at St. Vincent Hospital in Little Rock, AR surrounded by his family. He was born on September 29th, 1941 in Camden, AR to Minnie and B.F. "Smokey" Barkhimer. He served in the United States Air Force and retired in 2001 from the International Paper Co. as a millwright. In his younger days he took on the nick name "Wild Bill". He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Camden, AR and was proud to say he knew Jesus as his Lord and Savior. Bill enjoyed all things outdoor including camping, fishing, hunting, and working in his shop on whatever he could get his hands on. His grandkids would tell you he could fix just about anything and would give a stranger the shirt off of his back.

He is preceded in death by his son Billy Barkhimer, parents Minnie and B.F. "Smokey" Barkhimer, brother Kenneth Barkhimer, sister Bennie Hodge, and cousin Barbara Johnson. He is survived by his daughter Candy Lambert (Prentiss), his grandson Dawson Lambert (Kayleigh), granddaughter Whitney Tidwell (Houston), great granddaughter Haven Tidwell, son Billy Autrey, grandsons Mason Autrey and Aaron Autrey (Taylor), and good friend Charlotte Johnson, all of Camden.

Visitation will be at Proctor Funeral Home Tuesday, August 6, 2024 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Funeral Services will be held at 9:00 A.M. on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at Calvary Baptist Church with Bro. Don Phillips officiating. Interment at Lakeside Cemetery to follow immediately after.
