On March 2, 2026, Virgie Lou Askew-Ingram peacefully entered eternal rest, leaving behind a legacy of love, wisdom, and faith that will continue to live on in all who knew her.

Born December 14, 1936, to her parents Anthony Askew Sr. and Ada Askew, Virgie Lou lived a life rooted in compassion, service, and devotion to God and family. She was known for her warm spirit, kind heart, and the way she welcomed people into her life as if they had always belonged there. To know her was to feel loved.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Anthony Askew Sr. and Ada Askew; late husband Ellis Ingram; her siblings Opeal Ingram, Raymond Askew, Ollie Madison, Mary Ingram, Bonnie Mixon, and Anthony Askew Jr.

She was the devoted mother of three children: Missionary Mary Berry, Apostle Michael Ellis Ingram Sr. (Angela Ingram), and Ruby Green, whom she cherished deeply. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Minister Angelia Pless, Juan Broadnax, LaShonda Chambers (Dontate Chambers), Tramaine Ingram, Michael Ingram Jr., and Gary Green II.

Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense pride and joy: Marquest Broadnax, Tishira Douglas, Nyosha Moore, Minister Jocelyn Douglas. Veronique Moore, Orlando Moore (Alexia Moore), Trayana Reed, Ashanti Snider, Marcus Snider Jr., Lauryn Flannigan and Clarence Herron, along with a host of great-great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and loved ones who were blessed by her life.

Virgie Lou's love extended far beyond her immediate family. Many people who crossed her path found in her a second mother, grandmother, mentor, or guiding presence. She carried a nurturing spirit that made others feel seen, cared for, and encouraged.

By profession she was a teacher, but teaching was not just her occupation—it was her way of life. Whether in the classroom, in church, or around the kitchen table, she shared wisdom, guidance, and patience with everyone she encountered.

She found joy in life's simple and meaningful moments. Fishing brought her peace, cooking brought her family together, and her gift as a seamstress reflected her patience, creativity, and care for others.

Above all, Virgie Lou was a faithful woman of God and a respected church mother. Her faith shaped her life, guided her words, and strengthened those around her. She loved people deeply and lived her life as a reflection of that love.

Her gentle strength, generous heart, and unwavering faith will be remembered always. Though she has transitioned from this life, the lessons she taught, the love she gave, and the lives she touched will remain forever.

Virgie Lou Askew-Ingrain leaves behind a family, community, and circle of loved ones who are better because she was here.
Her life was a blessing.
Her memory a treasure.
She is loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
