Her Life's Journey

A beautiful flower was picked from this Earth and chosen to join God's ever growing Heavenly Garden.  Sudie W. Jackson entered Heavens gates, greeted by those loved ones she longed to see on March 21, 2026, at her home.

Sudie was born July 13, 1937, in Camden, Arkansas to McKinley and Callie Weaver.  She attended school in Camden, Arkansas.  She married James H. Jackson, Sr. and to this union four adorable children, whom she loved dearly were born.

Her main focus in life was to provide for her family and bring them up in the fear and knowledge of God.  She taught her children preservation by the example of her life.

She was a dedicated, faithful member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church.  She participated in many auxiliaries.  She loved singing in the Maids and Matrons Choir where she was recognized for her lead Soprano voice.  She was a member of Sunday School Class #3, and she loved to receive the Financial Banner.

During her early adulthood, she worked in private homes. That's where she met her extended family the Reynolds and the Hammets, whom she loved. She also counted every child in her community and beyond as a part of her "village".  She treated them like her own, giving them love and whatever they needed.

As times changed, Sudie went to work for the East Camden Area Defense Plant BEI/Esterline.  She continued her good work ethics and became a Union Steward.  She worked diligently on the March of Dimes and Relay for Life Teams for decades where she was recognized for her Outstanding Service and Support.  Through it all she would always give the credit to God for all He blessed her to do.  She knew her strength came from above.

Ms. Sudie or Mama Sudie, as she was affectionately called, dedicated her life to serving others and she demonstrated her love for others through her volunteer work.  She delighted in serving as a Band Mother and Hospitality Coordinator for Camden Fairview Bands for many years.  She spent many nights at games home and away, supporting her grandchildren and the scores of other band students.  She was one who believed that "The Children are Our Future."

When she wasn't working or volunteering her time, she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She lived and thrived at the love of family and friends.  She went above and beyond to make sure her family was cared for.

Those who truly knew Ms. Sudie valued her loving nature, wisdom, wit and yes, sarcasm.  She knew how to love people and lift them up.  She treated you like family and she never met a stranger.  She truly exemplified the unconditional love of Christ throughout her lifetime.

If there was a word or phrase to sum up Sudie's life, it would be "Loving, Faithful, Servant." Her smile, presence, loving and caring nature will be truly missed.  She may be absent from the body, but her presence and impact will be felt for years to come.

She loved the Lord, and she was the cornerstone of her family and a source of endless, unconditional love and strength to her family, friends and everyone she met.

She was preceded in death by her father, McKinley Weaver, her mother Callie Murphy; her husband, James H. Jackson, Sr.; her son, Johnny Raymond Jackson; her brother, James McKinley Weaver; her grandson, Issac Langley III; her granddaughter, Michelle French, her aunt, Lula Weaver; and daughter-in- law, Brenda Jackson.

She leaves to cherish her memories: three children: James Henry Jackson, Jr., Callie Marie Langley (Issac Jr.), and Jimmy Bernard Jackson (Gale); sisters-in-law, Susie Stepter and Reatha M. Weaver; niece, Bridgettte Flowers Sweatt (Jeffrey); nephews: Keith Weaver and Keon Weaver; twenty grandchildren; thirty-five great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness." 2 Timothy 4:7

A funeral service will be held on April 4, 2026, at 1:00PM at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church at 247 Buchanan Street, Camden, AR. There will be a visitation at Proctor Funeral Home on Friday, April 3, 2026, from 5:00PM-7:00PM.
