Obituary

Steven Orion Jeffus passed away on January 5, 2024, in Bossier City, LA. He was born in Camden, AR, on December 27, 1966, to Joyce (Huckabee) Anderson and Charles Jeffus. Steven was a diesel mechanic for more years than can be counted. He started working for Dodson Transport in the late 1980s and, in recent years, worked for Quality Carriers in Bossier City, LA. When he wasn't working on a big truck, you could find him in the woods hunting or on the lake fishing. He had a great love of the outdoors. He was a proud member of the deaf community and especially the Alexandria Association of the Deaf, which already feels the hole left in their hearts with his passing.

Steven was preceded in death by his father, Charles Orion Jeffus, and his sister, Cynthia Yvonne Jeffus.

He is survived by his daughter, Tarra Parks, and her husband Thomas of Camden, AR; his sister, Brandy Brown, of Smackover, AR; his brothers, Wade Jeffus of Kansas City, MO, and Justin Jeffus of San Diego, CA; his grandchildren, nieces and nephews; Winton Burnamen Jr., a dear friend who was like a brother; and a host of friends that turned into family along the way.

A celebration of Steven's life will be planned at a later date. Donations in his memory may be mailed to Alexandria Association of the Deaf, 6647 First St., Alexandria, LA 71303. Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
