Shirley Ann Lorenz Minor, 82 passed away on January 18, 2026. Shirley was born to Clarence and Evelyn (Eimann) Lorenz on October 15, 1943 in Chappell Hill, Texas. The family moved to College Station Texas where she lived until 1974. At that time, she moved to Ruston Louisiana when her husband Dennis began teaching at Louisiana Tech University. She had a rewarding career with Lincoln National Life insurance and retired in 1996. She remained a resident of Ruston until moving to Camden, Arkansas in 2020 due to health reasons.

She touched many lives and if she saw flaws in others, no one would know it. She always had a positive attitude, concern for others, and would do for others before she would do for herself. She would not ask for help concerned that she may be a hindrance on someone which of course she never was.

She enjoyed spending family time with her sisters and their families and with Dennis's family, especially the family reunions held in different places throughout the years. She kept up with the lives of the nieces and nephews and never forgot a name, a birthday, or who belonged to who. She also spent great times with her La Tech family. She and Dennis won a Tech Tony Award in 2005 for their support of the Tech Theater.

She lived a long and full life and enjoyed traveling, reading books, taking care of the yard, volunteering at the Methodist Church, and organizing her house. She kept an immaculate house where everything had its place and the dishes got washed right after using them and there was never a stick in the yard. She enjoyed watching Texas A&M as well as La Tech sports. She and Dennis traveled to Europe, to the Jamaica Reggae Festival, and Mexico taking in the ancient history and roads less traveled, exploring caves for one. She and Dennis had plans to retire in Ruidoso, New Mexico but those plans were cut short with Dennis's passing in 2005.

She had heath issues in her later years being diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2006 and lived with it for 19 years. She also got colitis and spent some very difficult times in the hospital and rehabilitation. Through all of this, she put up a great fight and remained strong and positive. All of her caregivers would say how much they loved Ms. Shirley and what a great person she was.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Dennis Minor, her sister Joyce Johnson, and a nephew Stanley Johnson.

She is survived by her son Brian Minor and wife Rena of Camden, AR, grandson Austin Minor and wife Alec, Wesley Andrews and wife Jena, and Trevor Green, all of Camden, Ar. She was "Grandma Minor" to two great grandchildren Piper and Lawson Andrews of Camden AR. Shirley is also survived by her sisters; Barbara Cartwright and her husband Bill of Franklin, TX; and Dianna Case and her husband John of Oklahoma City; nieces and nephews, Lori Gilstrap, Kim Case, Brandon Case, and Joy Lynn Geppart.

The burial will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Ruston with the Memorial Service arrangements to be announced at a later date.
