Sara Jane Lester, age 73, died November 7, 2024 at Good Shepherd Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. She attended Camden Public Schools from 1957 through 1969. She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church. At Stephens First UMC, she was given a life membership in the Women's Society of Christian Service. At Saint Mark UMC in Camden, she served on the parsonage and memorial committees. Saint Mark recognized her loyalty and service, along with her parents, by placing a plaque on a conference table with twelve chairs which were bought for the conference room. She had been invited to attend the annual General Conference at Hot Springs on two occasions. There is a stained glass window in the Saint Mark sanctuary in thankfulness to God for her and her brother. She was always thankful for her family, her church, her friends, and her wheels.

When she moved to the Good Shepherd on Aldersgate Road in Little Rock, she attended ecumenical services in the chapel there.

She is survived by her brother Harry Jay Lester, her sister-in-law Sandra Lynne Lester, both of Conway and by two nephews, Benjamin Thomas Lester of Denver, Colorado and Jack Gordon Lester and his wife Savannah Raup of North Little Rock.

She was preceded in death by two infant sisters, Margaret Suzanne and Jamie Louise Lester; paternal grandparents W. J. Lester, Sr. and Estelle McCroskey Lester; maternal grandparents Harry Gordon and Margaret D. "Sula" McClurkin, and a most beloved aunt, Margaret Louise McClurkin Smith.

Graveside services will be at Stephens Cemetery on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at 1:00PM under the direction of Proctor Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the church or organization of the donor's choice.
