Bro. Samuel Albert was born December 12,1944 in Camden, Arkansas to the late Walter Lee Albert and the late Dorothy Giles. He transitioned from his earthly home on Tuesday, December 24, 2024.
He received his formal education at Union Grove School Harmony Grove. He confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and united with the Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Camden, Arkansas. He later united with the Whitest Chapel Baptist Church where he remained a devoted and faithful member until his death. He served as Assistant Superintendent of Sunday School, Chair of Trustees, Church Custodian, a member of the Brotherhood, weekly Bible Study, and he served on the Church Finance committee. He was employed at Camden Furniture Company, Arquest Inc, and Camden Fairview Schools. He was also a self-employed businessman for many years.
He married Odessa Thomas (who preceded him in death), and to this union they were blessed with two children Sandra Lambert-Smith (who also preceded him in death) and Jeffrey Albert. He was also preceded in death by his sister Shirley Albert, and two brothers, Willard Albert and Ezzard Albert. He later met and married Peggy Hopkins. They were married 12 years and to this union no children were born.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his devoted wife, Peggy Albert, Camden, AR; one daughter, LaTasha Harris, Little Rock, AR; two sons,Henry Antonio (Amanda) Kelly, Camden, AR; Jeffrey (Vicki) Albert (Camden, AR); many grandchildren; one special grandson, Bobby Lambert; three sisters: Faye (George) Robinson, Camden, AR; Marva (MacArthur) Perkins, Little Rock, AR; Laverna Jackson, Hot Springs, AR; two brothers: Tony Albert, Bettendorf, IA; Cornelius Albert, Fort Walton Beach, FL and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be 4:00-6:00 PM Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Proctor Funeral Home. Funeral service will be11:00 AM Friday, January 3, 2025, at Whitest Chapel Baptist Church, Camden, AR. The burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Camden, AR.
