Ruth Myra Newton Owen "Momma Ruth", 91, of Camden, AR., born November 18, 1932 in Stuttgart, AR. to Ellis and Myra (Williams) Newton passed away September 8, 2024 in her home surrounded by her loved ones. Along with her parents Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Larry Owen, Sr.; daughter, Rebecca Shea Greer; and all of her brothers and sisters.

Ruth worked over the years in Camden at Gilland Drug Store, Pope Eye Care, Dan Cooks, Audrey's and Patty's Just Me. She was a faithful military wife, mother, and grandmother. Ruth was the epitome of a Southern Christian Lady. She was a faithful prayer Warrior and Servant of the Lord. She was a member of Cullendale First Baptist Church of Camden and the Faith 7 Ladies Sunday School class. She enjoyed camping, shopping, watching Razorback Basketball, and the yearly girl's trip to the beach, but her favorite of all was family gatherings in her home.

She is survived by her daughters, Deborah Marie Nussey (Albert) of Camden, AR. and Patricia Lynn Stinley (Harry) of Yellville, AR.; a son, Larry Gene Owen, Jr. (Jane) of Genoa, AR.; son-in-law, Clint Greer of Camden, AR.; grandchildren, Kari Lamkin (Troy) of Camden, AR., Mandy Smith (Steve) of London, England, Katherine Pesses (Joey) of Magnolia, AR., Larry Edmound Williams of Pine Bluff, AR., Bryant Davis of Camden, AR., Heather Freeman (Daniel) of Genoa, AR., and Douglas Greer of Camden, AR.; 14 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; 3 Bonus grandchildren, 5 bonus great-grandchildren, and 2 bonus great-great-grandchildren as well as special caregivers, Ann Bagwell Holt and Brittany Purifoy. The family would like to thank all of the caregivers at OCMC Hospital and Hospice along with Dr. Dan Martin.

The family would like anyone to donate to the charity of their choice in memory of her in lieu of flowers.

The visitation will be held on Friday, September 13, 2024 from 12:00PM-2:00PM at Cullendale First Baptist Church with services to follow at 2:00PM. The burial will be held at Mt. Horeb Cemetery. Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
