Ronald Gray
Edwards
Dec 11, 1938 — Sep 7, 2025
Camden
Ronald Gray Edwards, a lifelong resident of Camden, passed away peacefully in his home on September 7th, 2025. Ronnie was born on December 11th, 1938 to Albert and Lorain Edwards. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Sherry O'Shan Cook Edwards, his son Jason Michael Edwards of Camden, his daughter Laura Allison (Brad) Kauffman of Longview, TX., his two sisters, Susan Smith and Cynthia Wright of Hot Springs, his son-in-law Greg Wineland Sr., his grandchildren, Layne Wineland, Johnathan Ashworth, Nikkolet (Dorian) Etter, and Allison (Juan) Kauffman.
He is also survived by his nieces, Janet Warlick and Susannah Wright, nephew David Warlick, great-grandchildren Ezra Wineland, Oaklynn Kauffman, and Wrenlee Kauffman, and aunt Jean Coates.
Ronald was predeceased by his parents, his daughters Debra Ashworth and Angela Wineland, grandson Gregory Wineland Jr., sister-in-law Betty Cook Warlick, brother-in law Ronald Smith, and in-laws Alton & Teddy Cook.
Ronnie was very kind and courteous to all, which made him well-loved as a clerk at the Camden Post Office, a position he held for 31 years. Ronnie also officiated basketball for 25 years and football for 30 years at the high school level. He and his children loved sports, and many of their vacations were spent going to major league baseball games at numerous stadiums. Ronnie was also an avid fisherman and hunter and the best fish-flayer ever!
The love Ronnie and Sherry have shown their son, Jason, has been unparalleled as they have helped him navigate many obstacles in his life. A true life of devotion from all that have witnessed it. "Ronnie", "Daddy," and "Pappa" were the names he was called by the people he loved most. He will be truly missed, but we take comfort in knowing he is whole now, and we will reunite with him when we are called home.
