Roger Coppett of Camden, Arkansas, broke away from his earthly bonds on August 26, after a brief battle with cardiac disease. He was 71 and was the only son of the late Ellic and Elsie Coppett. Roger earned his bachelor’s degree in communication from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. He had several different careers, including working for many years as an insurance adjuster and, more recently, as a sales & crew chief for a home foundation repair company. He would proudly say, though, that his favorite career was as a driver/residential sales rep for Schwan’s Foods because he treasured greatly the friendships he built with his customers. Roger was a lifelong member of Camden Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Roger was a big fan of Arkansas Razorbacks sports, particularly baseball and football. He was interested in researching his family genealogy and was an ardent tinkerer / home project guy – and he loved fishing and dancing, especially line dancing in attire complete with cowboy boots and a western belt buckle. However, his favorite leisure activity – by far – was hitting yard sales in search of interesting treasures with his best “running buddy,” his sister Sherry. Roger always had a soft spot for dogs and carried an enduring love for his beautiful Fancie girl, and more recently for his favorite little miss Trixie Pixie. His heartbroken survivors include his best friend/sister Sherry Pittman of Springdale; his niece Emily Pittman (Phillip Wood), his nephew Eben Pittman (Lauren Lewis), his great-niece Lily Pittman, and his great-nephews Ian Elliott and David Lee Aiden Pittman (Cambera McCutcheon); as well as his sister Victoria Wilbourn (Alan Wilbourn) of Fayetteville, and his niece Erica Asfahl (Nels Madsen) and nephew Kyle Asfahl (Amanda Salov); along with special family friend Wendi Pittman (Phillip Creed). All who knew Roger will remember him for his big laugh, his big ole hugs, his relish for exploring country roads, and his love of a good bargain. Roger’s family is deeply grateful for the caring and professional care he received at Baptist Health Medical Center - Magnolia and at Baptist Health Medical Center - El Dorado.
