Obituary

Robert Dooley, 65, of East Camden, AR, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2023.  He was the son of the late Cleavy and Bessie Pledge Dooley.  Robert was born the seventh child on May 31, 1957 and raised in Center Ridge, AR.  He accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church in Center Ridge, AR.  Robert later joined Greater Grace COGIC, Hampton, AR.  He served as Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent and as a member of the Trustee Board.

Robert graduated from East Side High School in Menifee, AR.  After graduating from high school, Robert left Arkansas and moved to Kansas City, Missouri, where he lived and worked. Robert later moved back to Arkansas living in Little Rock for several years before moving and making his home in Camden, Arkansas.  Robert was employed by Esterline Defense Technologies until his health began to fail and he retired.  He met and married the love of his life and fishing buddy, Camilla Israel on June 2, 2019.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Cleavy and Bessie Dooley and three sisters, Susan Dooley Betts, Barbara Dooley and Vivian Dooley Johnson.  He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Camilla Israel Dooley of Camden AR; daughter, Tia Tenae Debose of Dallas, Texas; son, Brandon Allen Jones of Kansas City, Missouri; children from his heart, JaCameron Thrower of East Camden, Arkansas, Delisha Nash, Camden, Arkansas, Kendra Brown of Atlanta, Georgia, and Jarvis Israel of Flint, Michigan.  His siblings, Benenia George and Marqueta Dooley both of Little Rock, Arkansas, Sylvia  George of Arlington, Texas, Luther Dooley of Kansas City Missouri, Linda Harrell of Des Moines, Iowa and Marvin Dooley (Tiruwork) of Houston Texas and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family all of whom he dearly loved.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at 1:00 pm at Greater New Calvary COGIC, Camden, Arkansas.  Burial will follow at New St. Mary Cemetery.  Assistant Superintendent & Pastor, Elder Anthony Suttle will be officiating.  Superintendent Connell Muse will deliver the Eulogy.  Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
