Richard "Buck" Buchanan, 80, died Tuesday, October 25, 2022. He was born in Camden, AR September 22, 1942. He graduated Camden High School in 1960 and moved on to Southern State College where he graduated in 1965. He married Dianne, the love of his life and mother of his two sons on August 29, 1964. He furthered his education and became a pharmacist and owned Hampton Medical Pharmacy since 1979.

"Buck" was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Thelma Richards Buchanan and his brother, Vernon Charles Buchanan. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Dianne Turner Buchanan; two sons, Greg Buchanan and his wife, Kelly of Collierville, TN and Brian Buchanan and his wife, Laura of Cabot, AR; two loving grandsons, Logan Buchanan and Will Buchanan. He leaves behind a sister, Shirley (Quinton) Taggart of Farmington, AR and sisters-in-law, Francille Buchanan, Helen (Claude) Parton, Rhonda (Gene) Martin, and brother-in-law, Randy (Liz) Turner and numerous nieces and nephews.

"Buck" was on the first tennis team at Southern State College in Magnolia. He served many years on the Hampton School Board and was an active member of Locust Bayou Church of Christ. Buck enjoyed hunting, being outdoors and spending time with family especially watching his grandsons playing their various sports.

Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, October 27, 2022, at Proctor Funeral Home and 1:00-2:00 p.m. Friday, October 28, 2022, at the Locust Bayou church of Christ. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 28, 2022, at the Locust Bayou church of Christ followed by interment at Earnest Cemetery near Tinsman. Memorials may be made to the Calhoun County Animal Rescue or charity of that same type.
