Paul Dean (Tootle) Simpson, 70, passed away on April 10, 2025, at Baptist Health in Little Rock. Paul was born on October 20, 1954, in Camden, AR to Paul E. and Kaletabelle Simpson. He was a member of Cullendale Baptist Church. He attended Fairview United Methodist Church with his wife. Paul graduated from Fairview High School in 1973. He also graduated from UAM with a BS degree in Forestry and University of Arkansas with a master's degree in science. Paul worked for International Paper as a forester for 30 years and later at Victory Lumber as a forester for 11 years. He also worked as a real estate agent for Mark Hodnett Realty Group. Paul served on the Camden Fairview School Board for 10 years and Camden Masonic Lodge #11. Paul loved to hunt, especially duck hunting. He would often say that when he imagined Heaven, it would have flooded timber with mallard ducks floating through the trees. He was a family man who enjoyed spending time with his family as often as he could.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Paul E. and Kaletabelle Simpson and his in-laws, Robert and Carolyn Walker.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sherrie Simpson of Camden, AR; three sons, Jonathan Simpson (Amy) of Arkadelphia, AR, Andrew Simpson (Mylinda) of Smackover, AR and Keri Simpson of Camden, AR; four grandchildren, Gracie and Jon Ross Simpson of Arkadelphia, AR, Michael and Madeline (Pete) Simpson of Smackover; sister, Jackie Schleuss of Camden, AR; brother, Keith Simpson (Tena) of Magnolia, AR; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00PM Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Proctor Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 2:00PM Sunday, April 13, 2025, at Fairview United Methodist Church. The burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
