Michael Lynn Howland
December 28, 1971 — October 30, 2026
Michael Lynn Howland, age 54, passed away on October 30, 2026.
Michael held many different roles in his life. He was a husband, father, brother, pawpaw, and friend. If you had him as any of these things, you should consider yourself one of the lucky ones. When you were a part of Michael's life, you knew the grouch he was on the outside was just a rough exterior for a soft and kind heart. He was a very outspoken man, but a man of few words. He had a quick wit and a good poker face. You could leave a conversation feeling like a fool if you didn't know him, when in all reality he was only joking with you.
The real source of happiness for him was his family. He loved his wife, children, and grandchildren with all he had, and he worked to provide them with everything they needed, to the very end. He was the rock of Lyndsey's life -- the air she breathed, her one and forever true other half, a love that will never be forgotten. He loved his kids so very much, and the smile he carried when they entered a room or when he heard their voice on the phone was one of the largest smiles he had. The way he talked about the grandbabies, you could tell they were what life was all made for. There wasn't a day that went by, if you were one of his people, that he didn't love and pray for you.
His work family was not a typical group, but they were his and he was theirs. He worked most of his adult life as an employee for his friend, moving mobile homes. After the loss of his friend, mentor, and boss, he and Lyndsey decided to give it a go themselves. They purchased the company, and that is what he did until two days before he passed. He will always be the Mobile Home Guy to many in these parts. He knew the business inside and out, and customers called him back again and again because he excelled in the field.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Bobbie Jean; his father, Laurence Howland; and his brother, Sherman Howland; sister, Deborah Townsend.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lyndsey Burroughs Howland; his children, Cody Howland of Conway, Hannah Collins (Maine) of Conway, Logan Howland of Camden, and Bentley Allen of Camden; his "adopted" bonus children, Heather Harper (Kyle) of Hot Springs and Patrick Robertson of Camden; his grandchildren, Au'Brianna Wilson, Marshall Cannon, and Solace Harper; his sister, Nannette Porter (Mike) of Camden; and his brothers, Laurence "Bubba" Howland (Lisa), Steve Howland, Bobby "Buck" Howland (Brandie, fiancé), and John Paul Howland (Tamera); and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Services will be held at 11a.m. on Saturday, November 7, at Proctor Funeral Home, officiated by Jacovis Davis.
