Melva Dean Fogle was born to Thomas Sylvester Lockhart (TC) and Beulah Mae Lockhart on March 18, 1942, and departed this life on October 10, 2025. Melva joined Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church at an early age. She was a faithful member of the mass choir, Cassie Bryant Circle, and a member of Sunday school.

Melva graduated from Lincoln High School in 1960. After high school, she entered the workforce and spent most of her working years at General Dynamics. On March 1, 1974, she united in holy matrimony to Horace Eugene Fogle; they shared 51 Blessed years together. She had a kind heart full of love for everyone she knew.

Melva was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Sylvester Lockhart (TC); mother, Beulah Mae Lockhart; brother, Thomas Lockhart Jr., and sister, Betty Jean Lockhart. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Horace Eugene Fogle; her children, Reginald Lockhart (Cecelia), Vanessa Green (Horace Ray), Charlotte Juniel (Donald), Keithron Fogle (Alenda), Michael Fogle, Eric Scott (Kim) and Vernita Montgomery (Kenneth). Eleven grandchildren, Ketrina Green, Quintin Green, Crystal Lockhart, Reginald Lockhart Jr., Shawnti Fogle, Alexandria Fogle, Ashton Fogle, Camden Fogle, Devin Scott, Malik Scott and Kaylee Scott; three loving sister-in-laws, Earnestine Lockhart, Vernita Ellison and Ann Fogle-Frazier; and a host of nieces, nephews cousins and friends.

Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 PM Friday, October 17, 2025, at Proctor Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, October 18, 2025 at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
