Mattie "Darlene" Peterson passed away on January 24, 2023 at the age of 73. She was born on January 3, 1950 at home in Holly Springs, Arkansas to Ferrell and Evelyn Dodson. Holly Springs remained her lifelong home with her loving husband of 38 years Ricky.

She is preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter, Hannah Vaden. Darlene is survived by her husband, Ricky J. Peterson; her children Michael(Keri) Redmond, Trey(Cassi) Vaden, Roy Vaden, Sean(Natalie) Peterson; her siblings Janie Daniell, Judy(Mike) Boroughs and Buddy(Misty) Dodson; 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren.

Darlene enjoyed spending time crafting, antiquing, and cooking for her family and friends. She found her passion later in life, while working for the Chemical Dependency Unit at the Camden Hospital where she dedicated her days to caring for her patients.

No funeral or memorial service is immediately planned. The family will notify loved ones in the future when a service is scheduled.
