Mary Jane Speer, of Camden, AR, died Thursday, June 8, 2023. She was born July 21, 1947, to Carrie Jean Hall Smith and Marvin H. Smith of Stephens, AR. After graduating from Southern State College, now Southern Arkansas University, she was employed by International Paper Company-Woodlands Division in Camden, until its closure. She also assisted her husband, Roy Speer, in the family business, S & S Electric Company for several years.

Mrs. Speer was a member of the Maul Road Church of Christ, DAR, and Camden Junior Auxiliary.

Her parents, Carrie Jean, and Marvin Smith preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, Roy D. Speer; sons, Joshua Blake Speer, and Cary Wesson Speer; her precious grandson, Ty Wesson Speer and his mother, Julie Ross all of Camden, AR. She is also survived by her special cousins, Charlotte Horn of Bartlett, TN, Diane O'Dell of Sherwood, AR and Brenda Everett of Camden, AR and a sister-in-law, Brenda Speer of Hot Springs, AR.

Graveside service will be 10:00AM Saturday, June 10, 2023, at Stephens Cemetery, Stephens, AR. Johnny Hobbie officiating. Burial will follow in Stephens Cemetery, Stephens, AR. Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
