Mary Ann Martin Smith, 84, of Hope, AR formally of Cale, AR passed away on March 3, 2026, in Hot Springs, AR. Mary was born on August 15, 1941, to Lee and Rosa Martin in Patmos, AR. She enjoyed spending time with family and fishing. Her other great enjoyment was sewing and quilting for her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Freeman Smith; granddaughter, Britney Dickerson; brothers, Bob Martin, Junior Martin, Billy Martin, Neil Martin, and John Martin; sisters, Nan Hicks and Marie Hicks.

She is survived by sons, Jimmy (Donna) Smith and Walter (Shannon) Smith both of Cale, AR; daughters, Ann (Chuck) Halcomb of Delight, AR and Susan (Eddie) Dickerson of Hope, AR; Eight grandchildren, Jonathan Dickerson, Russell Smith, Jacki Smith, Hanna Hernandez, Haley Rather, Meagen Watson, Hunter Smith, and Lauren Hawkins; Twenty-three great-grandchildren; brothers, Dale (Shirley Martin and Richard (Brenda) Martin both of Cale, AR; sisters, Vickie (Johnny) Bailey of Stephens, AR, Betty (Tommy) Winters of Camden, and Rosie Raines of Cale; and numerous nieces and nephews.

We would like to thank the Springs of Hillcrest staff for the great care and love you showed her. She made many friends there. We would also like to thank Chi St. Vincent hospital in Hot Springs, AR for the great care.

There will be a graveside service on Friday, March 6, 2026, at 10:00AM at Sulphur Springs Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2026 from 6:00PM-8:00PM. Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
