Obituary

Martha Frances was born on March 1, 1936, in Camden, Arkansas, and opened her eyes in Heaven to her Savior on October 26, 2024. She was born to George W. Spells, Jr. and Mildred Irene Black Spells. She was the third of nine children and the oldest daughter. She was the loving wife of Pastor Charles (Chuck) Hutcheson for the past 72 years. Their's was a beautiful story of true love. She was the mother of three beautiful daughters, the grandmother of 15, and great-grandmother of 26. She was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church and the pastor's wife for 50 plus years. She worked several years and was widely known as Miss Martha at Audrey's Gift Shop in the Garden Oaks Shopping Center in Camden. Anyone who knew her fell in love with her sweet spirit and gentle, caring servant attitude. She followed her Air Force veteran husband wherever he served, including Hutchinson, Kansas; Texarkana, Arkansas; Rosas, Spain; and then Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, before settling in the Frenchport Community on Ouachita 67.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Bobby Spells and Ronald Spells and her sisters Peggy Spells Harrison and Barbara Spells Faulkner. Left to cherish her with love are her husband, daughters Brenda Hutcheson Fickey of Camden; Kay Hutcheson Brown (John) of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Joni Hutcheson Preston of Camden; four brothers George Charles Spells, Jerry Wayne Spells (Debra), Gary Dan Spells (Sue), and Billy Michael (Mike) Spells all of Camden; grandchildren Traci Trembly (Brent) in Vancouver, Washington; Olivia Russell (Jason) in Pueblo, Colorado; Rob Rogers (Evelyn) in Colorado Springs, Colorado; Rachel Neely Cramer in Colorado Springs, Colorado; David Preston, Jr. (Heather) in Huntsville, Arkansas; Hutch Preston (Meghan) in Camden; Cliff Preston (Leslie) in Smackover, Arkansas; and Wayne Burton (Kristi) in Smackover, Arkansas; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will be 6:00PM to 8:00PM Monday, October 28, 2024, at the funeral home.  Funeral service will be 10:00AM Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at Proctor Funeral Home with burial in Mt. Horeb Cemetery.
