Obituary

Margene "Torrence" Yarbrough was born, November 27, 1938 to the late Jamerson and Etterine Torrence in Stephens, Arkansas. She departed her life on March 7, 2023. She attended Carver High School in Stephens, Arkansas. Margene accepted Christ at an early age.   Margene was a member of the Cedar Grove Baptist Church. After marriage to her husband, Bracy Yarbrough, she joined Whitis Chapel AME Church. She was a faithful Missionary, Usher Board President. She enjoyed serving the Lord and spending quality time with her family and friends.   She worked as a CNA at Longmeadow Nursing Home, early in her career. Later on in her life, she provided Home Health Care and private sitting.   She loved helping people and she loved her job. Her hobbies were crocheting, fishing, canning, cooking and watching Gunsmoke   and other westerns on TV. She loved traveling to visit her family and friends and loved eating Popeyes chicken wings. Margene will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bracy Yarbrough; her parents; Jamerson and Etterine Torrence, 4 brothers; Earl, James Lee, Charles and Jesse Torrence. 2 sisters; Evelyn Green and Margaree Jones.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her sons, Bobby Yarbrough of Oklahoma City, OK; Julio Yarbrough of Camden, AR; Gregory (Rotanda) Yarbrough of Woodbridge, VA and Chris (Sandra) Yarbrough of Fort Worth, TX; her daughters, ArNita Yarbrough of Camden, AR; LaTonia Smith of Augusta, GA; god-son, Dwaine Irby(Alvelma) of Magnolia, AR; sisters, Pearl Wyrick of Stephens, AR; Melvin K. Thorn and Betty Smith; both of Camden, AR; Gladys Rivera and Virginia Lee; both of Milwaukee,WI, special niece, Mary Arberry of Stephens, AR.; brothers, Benny (Bobbie) Torrence and Pearl (Willie) Wyrick both of Stephens, AR; James Torrence of Camden, AR; and Alvin J. Torrence of Los Angeles, CA; 17 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Mary Cotton, Esterlene Taylor and Queen Yarbrough; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 12:00PM Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Antioch Baptist Church with burial in Springhill Cemetery in Stephens, AR.  Visitation will be Friday from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at the funeral home.
