Margaret Gulley Story passed away to be with the Lord on Friday April 25, 2025 at UAMS Medical Hospital in Little Rock, AR. She was born in Camden, AR on July 20, 1952 to the late Eugene and Lydia Gulley of Chidester, AR. She graduated from Chidester High School in 1971. After completing high school she begin her work journey at Firestone Rubber Co. in Prescott, AR where her tenure lasted for 12 years.
Later, she took on the career as an Independent Sales woman in Home Interior and Avon products. Her final career took place when she begin working with young children whom she loved in the Camden Fairview School District while she worked as an in home Hippy Instructor with in the early Childhood Development Program, and as a bus driver for children with special needs.
Later in life, Margaret went on to continue her education as she attended Henderson State University where she earned a 4 year Bachelor's Degree.
Margaret married Earnest Teen Gulley and together they formed a union of two children, Rufus Eugene Gulley and Tina Diane Gulley Ellis. Many years later, she married Scott Lee Story, Sr until he passed after 27 years in 2016.
Margaret genuinely loved the Lord. She loved to study the word of God and share the good news about His word to everyone she came in contact with.
She was preceded in death by her parents Eugene and Lydia Gulley, brothers Thomas Gulley, Bennie Gulley, Dennis Gulley, Herbert Gulley; sisters, Frances Flowers, Imogene Russey, Laura Dupree, Clara Mae Gulley and Eartha Lee Gulley Brown.
She leaves to cherish her memory and legacy, her son, Rufus Gulley (Neika) of Wake Village, TX; daughter, Tina Ellis of Magnolia, AR; grandchildren, Kenneth Ellis, Oliva Ellis, Taylor Ellis and Princeton Love. She had one special niece whom she raised, Tammy Gulley of Bluff City, AR; two special great nieces that she raised as her granddaughters, Jasmine Baily (Paul) of Marion, AR and Jakena Newborn of Camden, AR; one special brother-in-law, Jimmy Gulley of Bluff City, AR and sister-in-law, Annette Gulley of Chidester, AR; her nephews, Freddie Gulley (Ronnie) of Camden, AR, Michael Gulley of Camden, AR, Mark Gulley (Debbie) of Texarkana, TX, Kevin Gulley (Sonya) of Camden AR, Charles Russey (Debra) of Belvidere, IL, Donald Russey (Lottie) of Rockford, IL, Benjamin Russey (Christina) of Loves Park, IL, Jimmy Gulley, Eric Gulley, Derrick Gulley of Rockford, IL; nieces, Deborah Sherman (Leonard) of Pineville, LA, Catherine aka Tattea Gulley of Camden, AR, Hon. Judge Gwen Gulley of Rockford, IL, Kay Foreman, Heather Russell (Nipsey) of Camden, AR, Danetta Gossett Woodard (Leonard) of Arlington, TX; great nephews, Vince and Brent Sherman of Pineville, LA, LaMichael Gulley; great nieces, Taylor Gulley, Markayla Gulley of Texas, Lydia Gulley, Shamya Gulley of Camden, AR; siblings include sisters, Mildred Gulley, Ruth Gulley of Rockford, IL; and brother, Billy Gulley of Aurora, CO; cousins, Perry Gulley of Blevins, AR, Ruby Gaddis of Texarkana, TX, Joyce Ann Vowser of Dallas, TX, Rev. Charlie Lee Gulley of Lancaster, TX and special cousins, Jewel Fields of Ashdown, AR, Tina Martin of Stockton, CA, James Nelson of CA, and Maxine Massey of Detroit, MI; special friends, Joyce Cooper of Wake Village, TX, Mary and Ricky Steed and Marsha and Wesley McCarver; neighbors, Cornelius Beard, Teresa Matthews and a host of cousins, family and friends.
Margaret had an undeniable love for animals. She was also preceded in death by her beloved fur babies English Bulldog, Hoss and Cat, Angel.
To know her was to love her and know that you were loved.
Visitation will be held on Friday May 2, 2025 from 5 pm to 8 pm at Proctor Funeral Home Camden, AR. The Funeral Services will be held on Saturday May 3, 2025 at 2 PM at the Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Chidester, AR.
