Devoted wife, mother, and friend, Margaret Estelle Allen Chevallier, 87 passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2022 in Camden, AR. She was born August 31, 1934 in Nebo, LA to Hugh Hamilton Allen and Lilly Amanda Sanders Allen. She was an avid gardener, expert seamstress, master quilter, and above all, she was a first class babysitter to her grandchildren, nieces, nephews and adoptive family. She was an avid member of the Utility Baptist Church in Jonesville, LA. Her love of books was voracious, and in recent months, her most enjoyable pastime was holding her younges great grandchildren in her lap and reading to them.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh Hamilton Allen and Lilly Amanda Sanders Allen; her loving husband of 55 years, Louis Spencer Chevallier; her sisters, Nettie Smith, Audie Hailey, Ella Bradford, Lettie Windham, Marjorie Allen, and Lena Hudspeth; her brothers, James Allen, Arthur Allen, Reverend Ross Allen, Joseph "Tucker" Allen, most recently Jesse Allen, Wayne Allen, Donald Allen, and Glen Allen.

She is survived by her daughter, Pam Reynolds and husband, Jim of Camden, Arkansas; grandchildren, James Andrew Reynolds of Camden, Arkansas; and Shelly Mitchell (John) of Benton, Arkansas; great grandchildren, Holly Chandler (Cole), Bradley, Arkansas, Caleb Reynolds of Camden, Arkansas, Bella Mitchell, Jack Mitchell, Charley "Estelle" Mitchell, and Teddy Mitchell of Benton, Arkansas; great-great grandchild, Cashton Chandler of Bradley, Arkansas; sister-in-law, Betty Allen; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, July 30, 2022 at Nebo Baptist Church in Jena, LA. Burial will be at 10:00AM Saturday, July 30, 2022 at Nebo Cemetery in Jena, LA. Visitation and fellowship to follow service at Nebo Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. Arrangements were provided by Proctor Funeral Home in Camden, AR and services were handled by Hixson Brothers Fuenral Home in Jena, LA.
