Loyd Paul Hunter, 73, of Camden, AR passed away Sunday, November 23, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born October 23, 1952, in Magnolia, AR to the late Edgar Loyd and Jackie Ruth Dyson Hunter. Paul began his career in the machine shop at Elk Roofing Company in Stephens, AR in 1977. After the roofing company shut down in 1987, he went to work at Camden Machine Tool and Die as the shop foreman and retired after 36 years. Paul was an avid outdoors man who loved deer hunting and fishing. He loved his wife and children dearly. His most favorite thing to do was keep an immaculate yard.
He is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Earnest and Nellie Dyson and E.L. "Shorty" and Edna Mae Hunter. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Sherri Carter Hunter of Camden, AR; son, Jacob Hunter and wife, Peyton of Princeton, LA; three daughters, Haley Riley and husband, Andrew of Stephens, AR, Lisa Thurman and husband, Keith of El Dorado, AR and Amy Hunter of Broken Arrow, OK; four grandchildren; one brother, Mark Hunter of Magnolia, AR.
Pallbearers will be Al Redfearn, Jeff Lamkin, Thomas Parks, Ben Goss, Tony Cummings and Robert Whatley.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM Friday, November 28, 2025, at Proctor Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Proctor Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Andrew Banks officiating. Burial will follow in Philadelphia Cemetery in Magnolia, AR.
