Obituary

Louise Sevier Sales, 96, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2025, at her home in The Woodlands, Texas, surrounded by her family.

Louise was born on June 16, 1929, in Camden, Arkansas, to Bridge and Bonnie Morris Sevier. She lived a full and vibrant life that spanned nearly a century and took her across the southern United States—through Mississippi, Tennessee, Louisiana, and finally Texas.

Louise was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 74 years, William (Bill) Kenneth Sales, Sr., her parents, and her brother, Bud Sevier. She is survived by her daughters, Marilyn Vaughan (Jim) and Donna Highsmith, and her son, Bill Sales Jr. (Lynne). She also leaves behind her cherished sisters, Brenda Johnston (Jim) and Shelda Biniakewitz. Louise's legacy continues through her eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

During WWII Louise worked on the schoolgirl line at the local munition factory. After marriage, she worked as an Assistant Store Manager for Sears and Roebuck Co. where she developed her reputation as a strong manager.

A lifelong sports enthusiast, Louise was a proud member of her high school basketball team and an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and her favorite college teams—LSU, Tennessee, and Arkansas. Whether it was football or girls' basketball, she watched with passion and enthusiasm.

But more than anything else, Louise cherished time spent with her family, which included preparing their favorite foods, spirited card games, and lively conversations filled with family stories. Her presence was both commanding and comforting, and she never let anyone forget who was in charge, often reminding her loved ones with a smile, "I'm still the boss."

A graveside service will be held Thursday July 17, 2025 at 11:00am at Bethesda Cemetery in Camden, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org) or the charity of your choice.
