It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Loreen Daniel Cummings, who passed away peacefully on Monday, June 8, 2026, at the age of 78, following a long journey with dementia. Throughout her illness, she was surrounded by the love and support of her family, friends, and caregivers.

Loreen was born on November 26, 1947, in Camden, Arkansas, to Efird Wiley Daniel and Phyllis Larson Daniel. She spent much of her life in the Camden area, where she built a legacy of faith, service, education, and love for family.

Loreen devoted many years to teaching at Camden-Fairview High School. She spent much of her career as a special education teacher, where her patience, compassion, and unwavering belief in her students helped countless young people succeed. Later in her career, she taught home economics, sharing practical skills, creativity, and confidence with generations of students. Teaching was more than a profession to Loreen—it was an opportunity to uplift others and make a difference in their lives.

A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Loreen lived her beliefs through quiet acts of service and kindness. She loved serving others and was always willing to lend a helping hand wherever it was needed. Her cheerful spirit, optimistic outlook, and generous heart made her a blessing to all who knew her. She had a beautiful singing voice and especially loved singing hymns, finding joy and comfort in music throughout her life.

Outside the classroom and church, Loreen found great joy in sewing. A talented seamstress, she spent countless hours creating beautiful handmade clothing, gifts, keepsakes, and quilts for family and friends. Her creations remain lasting symbols of her creativity, skill, and love. She took pride in making things with her hands and found happiness in sharing her talents with others.

Loreen also loved to travel, especially with her family, and looked forward to opportunities to explore new places together. Among her favorite adventures were cruises, where she enjoyed making cherished memories with those she loved.

Above all, Loreen cherished her family. She was the proud mother of two children, grandmother of eight grandchildren, and great-grandmother of three great-grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Jason Green and his wife, Kelly; grandchildren Mason Green and wife Savanna, Brynna Green, mother of Michael, Chloe Green, and Brody Green; and by her daughter, Karissa Sonneborn; grandchildren Sarah Trauntvein and husband Michael, parents of Callum, Megan Gamber and husband Daniel, parents of Cooper, Emily Sonneborn, and Connor Sonneborn.

Loreen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Elbert Cummings; her brother, Larson Daniel; and her parents, Efird Wiley Daniel and Phyllis Larson Daniel.

The family is grateful for the many friends, church members, caregivers, and loved ones who blessed Loreen's life and supported her throughout the years. The family extends special thanks to the caregivers who cared for Loreen throughout her journey with dementia, treating her with kindness, compassion, and dignity. Their service brought comfort not only to Loreen, but also to those who loved her.

Loreen will be remembered for her faith, generosity, humor, optimism, and unwavering love for her family. Whether she was teaching students, helping a friend, serving in her church, or sewing something special for a loved one, she gave of herself freely and generously. Though she will be deeply missed, she leaves behind countless memories that will be cherished by those who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites friends and loved ones to honor Loreen's memory by serving others, sharing kindness, and cherishing time with family, just as she did throughout her life.
