Loel "Bubba" G. Tutt, age 88, of Arkadelphia, Ark., was born on September 9, 1937, in Camden, Arkansas, to the late Walter Bascom Tutt and Christine Garmany Tutt. He was a member of the Buena Vista Methodist Church for several decades and more recently of First United Methodist Church in Arkadelphia. Loel proudly served his country in the United States Army, an experience that shaped his lifelong sense of duty, discipline, and commitment. Following his military service, he began a long and dedicated career with International Paper, where he worked for 47 years. Known for his reliability, strong work ethic, and pride in a job well done, Loel spent many years at the Bag Plant and Dunnage Plant before retiring in 2002.

A man deeply rooted in Camden, Arkansas, Loel valued community, consistency, and the simple pleasures of everyday life. When not working, he could often be found golfing, at Oaklawn in Hot Springs, or cheering on the Arkansas Razorbacks. After retirement, he continued to live in Camden until 2021 when he moved to Arkadelphia to be closer to his only child.

Loel was someone others could always count on—steady, loyal, and sincere. His life reflected perseverance, responsibility, and devotion to providing for those he loved. His legacy lives on through the example he set through service and work, and through the many lives he touched along the way.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Walter B. and Christine Garmany Tutt; four brothers, Marion Garmany Tutt, John A. Tutt, Lyndell M. Tutt, and Walter Wayland Tutt; three sisters, Evelyn Tutt Shirey, Margie Ann Tutt Bryant, and Glen Rose Tutt Weable.

Loel is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years, Phyllis Tutt; his daughter, Rendi (Brett) Currey; his grandchildren; Richard Sweat and Savanah Lea of Houston, Texas, Broc Currey of Fayetteville, AR, Derrick Currey of Benton, AR, and Clay (Nora Kate) Currey of Bryant, AR; his niece Becky (Jordan) Snider of New Braunfels, Texas; one great-grandson, Calder Currey; and  many other nieces and nephews; and his devoted caretakers, Tionna Carter and Vanessa Sims.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 6th from 5-7pm at Proctor Funeral Home in Camden, Arkansas. Funeral service will be Wednesday, January 7th at 2pm at Buena Vista Methodist Church
