Linda Susan "Sue" Ketchum 68 of Chidester, AR passed away on May 21, 2025, at CHI St. Vincents in Hot Springs after a brief battle with liver disease.  Sue was born on March 23, 1957, to Sam and Valeria Ketchum.  Sue was a lifelong, faithful member of Adams Chapel Missionary Baptist Church where she played the piano and served as secretary treasurer.  Sue attended Stephens School where she graduated in 1975, then attended S.A.U. Magnolia.  After graduating college with an accounting degree, she worked for The Fred Stewart Company.  She then worked for First Federal/Heartland Bank and most recently, Arkansas Pulpwood where she retired from.

Sue is preceded in death by both of her parents, maternal grandparents: Floyd and Verna Hodge, paternal grandparents: Raymond and Estella Ketchum.  Sue is survived by aunts, Carole Pharr, of Chidester, and Jenny Hodge, of Benton, numerous cousins, and countless friends who will all miss her dearly.

Although Sue was known for her excellent cooking and baking ability, she had many volunteer projects that she loved participating in.  She was a huge supporter of the Chidester School Reunions and the Chidester Museum.  Whether it was secretary for the museum board, treasurer, or cook, she strove to do the work with excellence.  She was also very active in the Community Concert Association, Relay for Life, and the Two Bayou Fire Station Community, where she took pride in providing whatever was needed, with cooking and donating meals.  Sue immensely enjoyed cooking and providing meals for any function, especially for family and friends.  She was best known for making wonderful desserts and rolls.

The family would like to thank the nurses and Dr's at CHI St. Vincent in Hot Springs for providing unwavering care for her during her time there.  Visitation will be Saturday, May 24, 2025, from 6:00PM to 8:00PM.  Funeral will be Sunday, May 25, 2025, at 2:00PM at Proctor Funeral Home, with interment following at Riddick Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Sue's memory to The Chidester Museum, Adams Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Community Concert Association, Two Bayou Fire Department, or donor's choice.  Pallbearers will be Paul Whiteside, Cannon Orr, Lance Teague, Bill Greening, John Mahaffey, Maddox Wreyford, Quincy White and John Dawson, III.  Honorary Pallbearers will be David O'Hara, Richard Vick, Barry Doss, Byron Delamar, Greg Hodge, Everett Crain, Ralph Hodge, Russell Carlton and Johnny Shipp.
