A Sister's Tribute

Linda,
I was so blessed to call you sister
As children, you were always nearby
You were always with me
You stuck to me like glue
Sister, I could not shake you even if I tried.

You were my lifelong friend
We shared each other's joys and sorrows
Sometimes we fought like "cats and dogs"
Only to make up later
Sister, you have always been a piece of my heart.
I never thought I'd lose you
I always thought I'd have more time
I always prayed to go first
I never wanted to feel your loss
Sister, what will I do without you?

But here I am, standing all alone
feeling a pain impossible to describe
We promised to be sisters for life
And though you have left me
that promise still remains
Sister, your memory is always deep in my heart.

But for now…...
I am just a sad, grieving, old woman
who cries desperately for her sister.
