Lillie Langley, 80, of Camden, AR passed away Sunday, June16, 2024. Lillie was born on November 13, 1943, in Locust Bayou, Arkansas, to Franklin Hegler and Irene Bowie Hegler.
Her early childhood education was at Ashley Elementary in Locust Bayou and Oakland, California. Her high school years were at Calhoun County High School in Thornton, Arkansas and obtained her GED through Adult Education at Camden, Arkansas.
On April 19, 1963, Lillie married Len Johnson, Jr. To this union 6 children were born. Later in life she married Jerry Langley on May 26, 1990.
Lillie Mae joined Bethel AME of Camden, Arkansas and later moved her membership to Locust Bayou Church of God in Christ.
She worked at Hampton Nursing Home in Hampton, Arkansas. Later she was employed at General Dynamics formerly Stromberg Carlson. Brief employment at Evans-St. Clair at East Camden as a machine operator and as a clerk in the Emergency Room at Ouachita Medical Center of Camden, Arkansas. The last place of employment was General Dynamics formerly Hi-Tech.
She loved working Jigsaw puzzles, playing games on her tablet. She also loved watching Ballroom dancing, working with her hands crocheting, playing the piano and enjoying her grands, great grands, nieces, nephews and all the neighborhood children. Her favorite movie was Secretariat.
Lillie was preceded in death by both parents, her husbands: Len Johnson Jr and Jerry Langley, two daughters; Debra Lynn and Mary Alice Johnson. 6 siblings; John L Hegler, Franklin Hegler, Jr., Onita Vaughn, James Hegler, Frankie Sumter, and Juanita Johnson.
She leaves to cherish her memories her precious children: James Bernard Johnson, Timothy Johnson, Glenn Johnson (Beverly) and Sonya Marie Johnson. She also leaves behind 4 siblings: Dora Hegler of Stockbridge, Ga. Charles Hegler, Larry (Hank) Hegler, and Sundra Goodwin all of Hampton, Ar. 6 grand children: Isis Johnson, Timothy (T) Johnson, Layla Johnson, LeAndre Johnson, James Bernard Johnson, Jr, LeAnn Johnson., 4 great grandchildren: Kylei Moore, Kylan Devereaux, Taje' Malik Johnson, and Lindsey Allen.
Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 Friday, June 21, 2024, at Proctor Funeral Home. Services will be 3:00 Saturday at Greater Love Church of God in Christ followed by interment at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Locust Bayou.
