Scott Massey, a loving husband, devoted father, faithful servant of Christ, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on the afternoon of June 23, 2026. Scott was a warrior for Jesus and for his family. He lived a life marked by selfless service, unwavering faith, and a deep love for others. His greatest earthly ministry was leading his family by example, mentoring his daughter, Alyssa, and his son, Lee, to know and follow Christ. A dedicated member of Westside Methodist Church, Scott faithfully served in countless ways. He poured his heart into The Table college ministry, mentoring and encouraging young adults in their walk with Christ. He served as choir director, participated in Vacation Bible School, shared his musical gifts in worship, and faithfully served on numerous church committees. His faith grew deeper through his years at Westside, and he became a man whose knowledge and understanding of Scripture were evident to everyone who knew him. Even during his final days, Scott remained focused on what mattered most sharing the hope of Jesus Christ. He continued telling others about the Lord, praying for their salvation, and encouraging them in their faith. He faithfully served with NELA Walk to Emmaus and never stopped thinking of others. As he faced the end of his earthly journey, he lovingly prepared his wife and children with words of faith, hope, and assurance, pointing them to the promises of God. Outside of church, Scott found great joy in God’s creation. He loved hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors. He also enjoyed woodworking, using his hands to build everything from ramps and bookcases to many other projects that blessed family and friends. Whatever he built, whether with wood or through relationships, was done with care, excellence, and love Scott’s life was one of faith, humility, generosity, and quiet strength. He fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith. Today, he is resting from his labor and rejoicing in the presence of his Savior, hearing the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” 

Scott was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Massey; his brother, Steven Massey; his paternal grandparents, Roy and Francis Massey; his maternal grandparents, Earl and Bessie Reddin; and many beloved aunts and uncles. He is survived by his beloved wife, Amy Massey; his children, Alyssa Massey and Lee Massey; his mother, Earline Massey; his father -in-law & mother-in-law, Jim & Barbara Williams; his sister, Sherry Young and husband, William; his sister-in-law, Terri Davis, and brother-in-law, Jeff Davis; his niece, Abby Snyder and husband, Todd, and their daughter, Arabelle Snyder; his nephew, Grant Davis; his special cousins and fellow outdoorsmen, Mitch and Greg Williams; his niece, Michaela Evans and her children, Titan, Maverick, and Haisley; his nephew, Michael Massey and wife, Kristina and their children Logan and Autumn; and many cherished aunts, uncles, cousins, church family, and friends who were blessed by his life. Scott leaves behind a legacy of steadfast faith, sacrificial love, and a life wholly devoted to Jesus Christ. Though his family grieves deeply, they rejoice in the assurance that they will see him again in the presence of the Lord he loved and served so faithfully. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness…” — 2 Timothy 4:7–8
