Laura Ann Buckley Perry, 72, of Camden, Arkansas, passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on January 2, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on May 29, 1953, alongside her twin brother, Carl Summers Buckley Jr., to Carl and Lillie Mae Buckley.

A devoted Christian, Laura's faith in the Lord was the foundation of her life. She was a lifelong member of Cullendale First Baptist Church, and she also cherished her time visiting 1st Presbyterian Church of Camden. Her unwavering faith carried her through the challenges of recent months.

Laura was a proud graduate of the Fairview High School Class of 1971, and she treasured reconnecting with old friends. She eagerly looked forward to attending her class reunions and luncheons, always enjoying the camaraderie of her classmates.

For many years, Laura served as a secretary for the Camden Fairview School District, retiring in 2015 from her role at the Camden Fairview Intermediate School. She had a deep love for children, and they were naturally drawn to her warm spirit. Throughout her career, she built many lifelong friendships with both students and parents alike.

Laura married the love of her life, James Larry Perry, in August of 1972. They were just 19 days shy of celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary when Larry passed away. Their union was blessed with one son, Shannon, born in October of 1975, who brought Laura immeasurable joy.

Laura was preceded in death by her parents, her twin brother Carl, and her husband Larry.

She is survived by her son, Shannon Perry, and wife, Staci; one grandson, Dylan Hicks, and wife, Ashley; three great-grandchildren, Kimber, Brodie, and Kipp Hicks; Nephew, Carl 'Summers' Buckley III, and wife Krissy, and their four kids, Zach, Hunter, Mason and Gracie Mae Buckley, all of Camden; Her mother-in-law, Laura Jean Perry Smith; one brother-in-law, Mark Perry, and wife, Theresa; one sister-in-law, Kaye Cox, and husband, Jesse, of Fayetteville; And a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Among her closest and most cherished friends were her lifelong best friend, Janice Launius, and her dear friend LD White, who was not only a best friend but also her constant companion. Their friendships were a source of love, laughter, and unwavering support, and they held a very special place in her heart.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the "Circle" of friends who helped provide meals and companionship during Laura's final months. Special thanks to Wood's Place, Mazzio's Pizza, What's Cooking, and La Loma, for their kindness and the joy they brought to Laura and LD's weekly visits.

The family also extends their deepest appreciation to Dr. Braden and his wonderful team at Arbor Hospice for their compassion and care.

A visitation will be held Friday, January 09, 2026, at Proctor Funeral Home from 6:00PM to 8:00PM.  A memorial service will be held 2:00PM Saturday, January 10, 2026 in the Chapel of Proctor Funeral Home.
