Laura Jean Dews Perry Smith, 94, passed from this earth on May 14, 2026. She was born August 31, 1931, in Mt Holly, AR to Lamar and Lydia Dews. She married James Aaron Perry at a very early age they were married until his death in 1977. Then Laura married Bobby T. Smith, and they were married until his death in 2021. These were two of the finest men ever to grace the earth. Laura was a blessed woman. Laura was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Camden. After her children went to school Laura enjoyed working at Gibsons and she kept children in her home. She enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening and cooking Sunday night dinners for her family.

Laura is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Lyle Dews; sister, Lurlean Watson-Sanders; husbands, James Aaron Perry and Bobby T. Smith; son, James Larry Perry; grandson, Jamie Perry; daughter-in-law, Laura Ann Perry. She leaves behind to cherish her memories, daughter, Kaye Cox and husband, Jesse Cox of Fayetteville, AR; son, Mark Perry and wife, Theresa of Camden, AR; grandchildren, Shannon and Staci Perry, Jake and Brenna Perry, Aaron Biehler, Justin Cox, Donald and Christie Cox, Sharon and Scott Davis, Vicki and Ron Harris; host of great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Feleicia Walton (sister) Shantrice and all the ladies of Sweet Home Elderly Care who loved and cared for Mamaw over the last six years. She rested at home and was well cared for. For that we will always be grateful.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, May 17, 2026, at Liberty Cemetery in Louann, AR. The burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery, Louann, AR.
