Obituary

Kenneth "Doc" Long Jr., 99, passed away Sunday, October 9, 2022, at his home in Camden, AR. He was born on December 28, 1922, to Kenneth and Gladys Blythe Long. Mr. Long served in WWII for the Army Air Corp while stationed in Brazil. He was a member of Cullendale First Baptist where he served as a Deacon, Gideon, and Sunday school teacher. His servitude was a testament to the love he had for the Lord and his church family. He was co-owner of Long Brothers Oil Company; a company he built with his brothers. Doc was a strong patriarch of his family, a good father, who took care of his daughters, and his granddaughters are proud of his legacy.

Preceding him in death are his parents; wife, Mary Long; daughters, Mary Norwood and Eva Pickett; granddaughter, Shelly Norwood; brothers, Joffre Long, David "Blue" Long, Charles "Lindy" Long, Pat Long; and sister, Lita Lum. Survivors include his granddaughters, Lindsey Wilson (Jason) and Lacey Schroeder (Todd) of Camden along with his great grandchildren, Tristan and Dawson Wilson and Peyton and Skylar Schroeder. He is also survived by countless nieces, nephews and family friends who gave him great joy.

The family is sincerely grateful to Debra Ellis, Jayla Scott and Tanya Stith for their excellent care of their PaPaw during the last few years of his life. Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday, October 13 from 6-8 p.m. at Proctor Funeral Home. Funeral will be 2:00PM Friday, October 14, 2022 at Cullendale First Baptist Church.
