Obituary

On May 01, 2024 Katie Lou Pickett, age 97 passed from this life into Gods eternal rest.  She was born January 11, 1927, in Sparkman, AR. Her parents were Oren Hugh Shambley and Katie Easter Launius Shambley.  Katie worked many years at Stinson's Jewelry, lived a very active life, and loved being with family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Hugh and Katie Shambley; husband, Ray Jackson Pickett; son, Michael Wayne Carter and his wife, Karen Hill Carter; son, Jimmy Ray Pickett and wife Eva Long Pickett; grandson, Caleb Carter; and granddaughter, Katie Carter Shumate.  Also preceded in death by sisters, Pauline Ray, Minnie Jean Parker Landers and Wilma Shambley Hern; brothers, Wayne George Shambley, Lewis Faye Shambley, and Winfred Hugh (Bill) Shambley.

She is survived by sons, Terry Crank and wife, Kathy of Benton and John Pickett and wife, Sue of Camden; her nine grandchildren, Tanner Pickett (Vanessa), Tyler Pickett (Leah), Ryan Crank, Jake Crank (Shannon), Hillary Crank, Michael Mitchell (John), John Kirk Carter, Lindsey Wilson (Jason) and Lacy Schroedor (Todd); sister-in-law, Bobbie Jean Warren. She also leaves behind eighteen great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, May 3, 2024 from 5:00PM to 6:30PM at Proctor Funeral Home.  Funeral service will be held at 3:00PM Saturday, May 04, 2024 at First Presbyterian Church with Reverend David Stipp-Bethune officiating.  Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
