Katie Horton, 35, passed away on August 11, 2025. She was born on September 5, 1989, in Camden, AR to Eddie Horton and Cheryl Davis. Katie worked as a Deputy Tax Collector in the courthouse. Katie had her own independent style. She was unique and smart. Katie was saved and knew Jesus.  She liked doing arts and crafts, riding a side by side, and preparing for Halloween (her favorite holiday). Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her son Remmy.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Doug and Sue Horton, John Floyd and Karen Hughes, Don and Charline Davis, and Betty Bennings; two uncles, John Brooks Hughes and Charles Davis.

Katie is survived by her son, Remmington "Remmy" Shackleford; her mother, Cheryl Davis and her husband, Doug of Camden, AR; her father, Eddie Horton and his wife, Kathy of Camden, AR; uncles, Chris Hughes and his wife, Amy of Camden, AR, Dwayne Parker and his wife, Shari of Arkadelphia, AR, Mike Kizziah and his wife, Susan of Heber Springs, AR, Don Alan Davis and his wife, Gena of Magnolia, AR, and Van Davis of Little Rock, AR; step-sisters, April Thompson and Ami Thompson; cousins, Ryan Parker, Neathery Parker, Daniel Hughes, Brandon Stinnett, and Katy Quarles; niece, Paisley Thompson; nephew, Dalton Jones; great aunts, Sue Jackson and Dianne Bird and her husband, Bill; her court house family; and a host of family and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025, at 2:00PM at Westside Methodist Church. There will be a visitation from 1:00PM-2:00PM before the service. Interment will be at Mt. Horeb Cemetery. Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
