Judith Carol McKissack, age 82, of Camden, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on February 28, 2025 Judy was born in San Diego, CA on December 9, 1942.
Judy McKissack was a beautiful loving mother and grandmother who spent most of her days with her family in Camden, Arkansas. She was especially close with her daughter, Donna, and her Grandson, Dayton.
Judy met her true love, Donald Ray McKissack, in Little Rock, AR on a blind date. They fell in love and were married in 1967. They were happily married for 17 years and had two children, Ripley and Donna. They all enjoyed their family's life together in Camden.
Tragically, in the early 8o's, Judy lost her husband, Don, her son, Ripley, and her father, Jack Lewis all at different times within the timeline of a year. Despite her great losses and challenges, Judy showed great resilience as she rebuilt her life with Donna at her side. She became a successful businesswoman as she took over the management of Don's business, The Cellar Club from 1985-2008. She passed on the family business to her daughter, Donna. She also worked at International Paper Company where she retired after 35 years of service.
Judy also enjoyed the occasional adventure. She liked to travel with her brothers, Larry and Dennis Lewis. Their travels took them to Niagara Falls, Oregon, Yellowstone National Park, Cancun, Mexico, and Egypt.
Judy was a lifelong member of Fairview United Methodist Church.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Frances and Jack Lewis of Lonoke AR, her husband, Donald Ray McKissack of Camden AR, her son James Ripley McKissack of Camden AR, grandson Matthew Paul Grass of St. Albans West Virginia, brother Dennis Lewis of Houston Texas and mother-in-law Mildred McKissack of Camden.
She is survived by her daughter Donna McKissack and grandson Dayton Rothwell of Camden AR, her brother Larry Lewis, her niece Ruth Lewis of Junction City OR, and her nephew, Jason Lewis of Eugene OR.
Judy's family invites all who knew and loved her to a celebration of her life at Proctor Funeral Home in Camden at 2 pm on Sunday, March 02, 2025. Visitation will be 1:00PM to 2:00PM. Burial will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery in Camden, AR.
