Juanita Jean Melton, 92, of Camden, AR, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at Silver Oaks Health and Rehab. She was born on March 12, 1933, the daughter of Earnest E. and Lena Simmons Grissom. She was a member of the Sylvan Hills Baptist Church. She retired from General Dynamics in Camden, AR. She loved all her kids, grandkids, great - grandkids and great-great grandkids.

She is preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy Melton; brothers, Delbert Grissom and Earl Grissom; sisters, Flossie Walthall, Lucille Honeycutt, Dorothy McElroy and Earnestine Newberry; great granddaughter, River Melton; son-in-law, Kenneth Ray Massey.

She is survived by her two sons, William Melton (Jan) and Ronald Melton (Joyce); daughter, Becky Massey all of Camden, AR; grandchildren, Tamra Howland (John), Rob Melton (Crystal), Raymond Massey, Brandon Melton (Jodi), Kim Martin (Chad) all of Camden, AR, Bip Melton (Jessica) of Eagle River, AK and Cole Melton of Bossier City, LA; great-grandchildren, Becca Christie (Johnathan), John Howland (Sydney), Brittney Howland, Zander Melton, Kaitlyn Epps and husband, Keiyuntee, Conner Massey, Landon Morgan, Carson Massey, Abby Melton, Pressley Martin, Makenzie Massey and Jordan Melton all of Camden, AR, Ben Melton of Cabot, AR, Aiden Melton of Bossier City, LA and Annyssa Cordero of Albuquerque, NM; great-great grandchildren, Ainslee Kinder and Jonah Christie; numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the staff and nurses at Silver Oaks Nursing and Rehab and Arkansas Hospice who cared for Jean.

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at Proctor Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Sylvan Hills Baptist Church. The burial will follow at Mt. Horeb Cemetery. Bro. Cole Melton and Bro. Brandon Melton will officiate the service.
