Joy Clementine Sherman, a devoted wife and loving mother, passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at the age of 93. She was born on March 6, 1932, to Percy M. Coston and Bessie Gay Coston in Camden, AR. Joy graduated from Fairview High School in Camden, AR. She was one of the founding members of White Oak Lake Baptist Church, Chidester, AR. Joy lived her life with unwavering faith and a kind, gentle spirit that touched all who knew her. While she is now at peace and her struggles have come to an end, her passing leaves deep sorrow and great heartache to those who loved her.

Joy's legacy is one of love, perseverance, and warmth. She embodied grace and strength, navigating life's trials with a steadfast heart and enduring love for her family. The love of her life was her husband, Robert Sherman, with whom she shared a remarkable 56 years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion. Her heart also belonged to her daughters, who brought her immense pride and joy.

In the quiet comforts of life, Joy found happiness through cooking, crocheting, and crafting handmade gifts that reflected her love. She cherished the peaceful spirit of lake life. Fishing for bream was close to her heart, a pastime she held dear. Her irresistible sweet tooth, particularly for chocolate, was a source of delight and brought a sparkle to her eye, making every indulgence a special moment of joy.

Joy is preceded in death by her husband, parents, her son, Dickie Ray Tutt; her sister, Dorothy Rouse; and her brother, Floyd Coston. Joy is survived by her daughters, Jamie Norris of Chidester, AR and Phyllis Havard of West Monroe, LA. She is lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Stephen Havard (Brandi) and Jennifer Ingoldby (Andrew); her great-grandchildren, Logan Havard and U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Tyler Havard (Ciara); and her great-great-grandchild, Mason Havard; host of nieces and nephews.

Her family was her pride, joy, and legacy, cherished with endless love across every generation. Her memory will be a blessing to all who knew her-a woman of grace, strength and enduring love.

A graveside service celebrating Joy's life will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at Holleman Cemetery, Chidester, AR. Her family invites all who knew and loved her to join in honoring her remarkable journey and legacy. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to White Oak Lake Baptist Church, Chidester, AR.
