Johnny Walthall, age 76 of Bearden, AR passed away Saturday, November 23, 2024 at his home in Bearden following a battle of pancreatic cancer.  He was born July 04, 1948 to Ira and Mamie Moore Walthall.

Johnny was employed at Bearden Lumber Company for 20+ years and at Hanson Aggregates for 15 years. He loved to fish, and just spending time outdoors in his shop, tinkering with whatever he though he needed to fix that day or build.  Johnny loved gathering old lawn mowers and lawn mower parts, swapping parts from this one to that one, and would never stop until he succeeded in getting one going.  He was known around Bearden as the lawn mower man on Launius Street.  Like every other Walthall, he never met a stranger and was loved by so many.  Never had a short goodbye.  You would say goodbye and 30 minutes later you were still there, cause he would always say, "Hey before you go let me tell you this or let me show you this."  There was never a dull moment when in the presence of Johnny Walthall.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Ira Walthall and Mamie Moore Walthall; four sisters, Ruby Walthall Mosley, Helen Walthall Mosley, Dorothy Walthall Quarles and infant sister, Glayds Walthall; and a brother, Jessie Walthall.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Maybelle Doherty Walthall; a son, Paul Walthall (Ashley) of Smackover, AR; a daughter, Renea Walthall Clark (Van) of El Dorado, AR; two stepsons, Wesley Smith (Becki) of Vilonia, AR, Nicky Smith (Becky) of Big Sandy, TX; step daughter, Leslie Hendrix (Cheyene) of Conway, AR; two grandsons, Trent Griffith (Kaylee) and Ryder Walthall; six step grandsons, Nathan Lee, Dravin Smith, Wesley Smith, Austin Smith, Justin Smith and Eason Spenc; one granddaughter, Kelsey Hall Nutt (Sam); four step granddaughters, Hanna Lee, Aliyah Hendrix, Ashley Story and Chandler Ruiz; one great grandson, Andre W. Nutt; two step great granddaughters, Clara Ruiz and Rielyn Smith; sisters and brothers, Pete Walthall (Pat), Bud Walthall (Linda), James Walthall, Barbara Tidwell and Thelma Evans all of Bearden, AR, Bill Walthall (Jeanie) and Melba Hunt all of Fordyce, AR, and Don Walthall and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 1:00PM to 2:00PM before the service.  Funeral service will be 2:00PM Tuesday, November 26, 2024 Eagle Mills Baptist Church with burial in Moss Hill Cemetery.
