Obituary

Johnie W. Jones, Jr., 99, passed away on February 9, 2025. He was born on September 2, 1925, in El Dorado, AR to Johnie and Myrtle Shankle Jones. Johnie worked as the Senior Vice President for First National Bank. He went to Victory Church for over forty years where he served as a Deacon. Johnie has been a missionary to Russia and served as a member of the Arkansas Lions Club. He liked to go fishing and camping, but his passion was for golf. He played well into his 90's. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and church family.


He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margaret Jones; two sisters, Louise Riley and Melba Bates; and a brother, Walter Jones. He is survived in death by his three sons, Ron Jones and his wife, Ramona of Hot Springs Village, AR, William "Bill" Jones and his wife, Pam of Stephens, AR, and Doug Jones and his wife, Nancy of Hot Springs Village, AR; nine grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.


A funeral service will take place at Victory Church on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at 1:00PM. There will be a visitation at Proctor Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5:00PM-8:00PM. Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
