John Frederick Harper, Jr.

John Frederick Harper, Jr. was born on June 14, 1987 to Mr. and Mrs. John Frederick Harper Sr. at University of Arkansas Medical Sciences Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas.

John dedicated his life to Christ at an early age. His home church was New Haven Missionary Baptist Church in Camden, Arkansas. He was a member of the Sunshine Choir and was a member of the junior usher board.

John attended Camden Fairview Public Schools and was a part of the Class of 2006, where he participated in football.

John was the youngest of the three siblings and everyone knew it. He was an adventurous child who loved the outdoors. His favorite pastime was fishing. He had a pole for the number of fingers and toes he owned.

John was stricken at an early age with congestive heart failure and end stage renal disease. These diagnoses took a toll on John, but he kept pressing. He continued to fish when he could and he loved to hang around the deer camp with his sister and brother- in -law during that time of year. He also loved to see a good football game. He made many Friday night trips to see his nephew play football. But most of all, he loved his family and his children, in his own way and truly cared for others.

John was preceded in death by his father, John Frederick Harper, Sr, His grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Juries Robinson, Mr. & Mrs. Oreatha Hunter, and Mr. Eugene Harbor.

He leaves his memories to cherish to his mother, Dorothy Harper of Malvern, Arkansas, sisters Lakita (Brandon) Davis of Camden, Arkansas, Monique (Barry) Hall of Malvern, Arkansas. Grandmother Theresa Harbor of Camden, Arkansas: his four children, Jamarion Zaire Harper, Janarria Felice Harper, Tavioun CarDai Harper and Tre’Siah Addae Harper-Bonman all of Camden, Arkansas. A bonus daughter, Kenzlie Smith and two special friends, Deamber Smith and Xavier Davis all of Camden, Arkansas: three nieces, Kelita Browing of Camden, AR, Carmen Ross of Malvern, AR and Gabrielle Hall of Malvern, AR: and three nephews, Keave' Bates of Conway, AR, Khaleb Smith of Camden, AR and Carlos Ross, Jr. of Malvern, AR, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 13, 2026 at New Haven Baptist Church.
