John Scott
Hailey, Jr.
Oct 7, 1960 — Jul 3, 2024
Camden
It is with deep sorrow that the family of John "Scott" Hailey Jr. announce his sudden passing on Wednesday, July 3rd, 2024 at the age of 63.
Scott was born on October 7th, 1960 in Camden, Arkansas to John Scott Hailey Sr. and Daisy Mae Cash-Waters. He was a 1979 Fairview graduate and served many years on the East Camden Volunteer Fire Department as Fire Chief. He dedicated 45 years of his life to General Dynamics where he planned on retiring later this year. When Scott wasn't working, he enjoyed anything outdoors, from tending to the horses to riding the tractor. Sun, rain, sleet, or snow, he was always on the move. He was an inspiration to us all: an amazing husband, father, grandfather, and most of all friend. Scott devoted so much time into being a family man. He was the husband so many aspire to be, the father most can only dream of, and the grandfather that all children deserve. Not only did he raise his daughters, Michelle and Stormi, with unconditional love and support but he took on the role of father to many others without hesitation. He had one of the biggest hearts and genuinely cared for other people.
Scott will be forever remembered by his wife of 10 years, Cathy Hailey, children, Michelle Hailey-Orrell (Jeff), Stormi Hailey-Wright (Nathan), Travis Bradford (Sivan), Tosha Billingsley (Billy), Sabrina Bradford (Matt), Alyssa Fortner (Tanner), 19 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, along with numerous other friends, coworkers, and family members that he held close to his heart.
Scott was preceded in death by his father, John Hailey Sr., his mother, Daisy Waters, and his son Timothy Hailey.
The Wake will be held Friday, July 19th from 6-8pm at Proctor Funeral Home in Camden, Arkansas. The Memorial Service will also be held at Proctor Funeral Home the following day, Saturday, July 20th at 10am.
