Joe C. Fanning, 84, of Magnolia died Saturday, May 7, 2022 at his home in Magnolia. Mr. Fanning was born October 1, 1937 in Springhill, TX, the son of Orville Fanning and Thelma Calvet.  Mr. Fanning was retired as manager of data processing at International Paper Company, an avid golfer, and member of Magnolia First Baptist Church.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Chris Fanning, and a brother, James Chevez.

Survivors include his sons, Stephen Joe Fanning and wife, Maria of Mt. Pleasant, TX, and Alan Jay Fanning of Beaumont, TX; daughter, Vaunda Fanning of Annona, TX; step-daughter, Sherry Whittington of Magnolia, AR; step-son Benny Dwayne Ogburn, Jr and wife, Vickie of Hurst, TX; and sister, Beth Perez; host of grandchildren, and a host of great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Fanning will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at Proctor Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Dustin Wisely and Bro. Roger Dunlap officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Proctor Funeral Home of Camden.
