Joanna Hollis Slade Hanson was born March 18th, 1934. She was born in Camden, AR to Alberta Moore Hollis and Clinton Renford Hollis. She loved being a nurse and excelled at all of her jobs in nursing, but she found her calling in surgery. She always had an artistic mind, which she used to create beautiful still life and landscape paintings, which decorate the homes of many she loved. She kept her grandchildren and great-grandchildren endlessly fascinated with games and stories. She loved to cook and used her wonderful food to show love to her friends and family. She also had a heart for animals from the birds and squirrels that she would feed and watch from her kitchen window to all of the many pets she had over the years and most recently, her beloved dog, Bell. She had a strong faith and was a light to those who knew her.

She is preceded in death by husband, Paul Hill Slade, with whom she had 3 children, and Robert (Bob) Wilson, with whom she raised her 3 and his 2 children, that they each loved as their own.

Joanna is survived by her loving husband of 21+ years, Jim Hanson, with whom she retired and experienced the joys of being grandparents and great-grandparents.

Joanna leaves behind family members to cherish her loving memory; husband, Jim Hanson, Hot Springs, AR; brother, Jimmy Hollis (Lula) Camden, AR; daughter, Beth Slade-Boling (Mark) of Evansville, IN; son, David Slade of Kansas City, Kansas; step children, Sherry Wilson Huff (Earl) of Monroe, Louisiana; Mark Wilson (Gail) of Monroe, Louisiana; Tiffany Abe (Brandon) of Kansas City, Aaron Hanson, of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Jennifer Slade, Zac Boling (Anna), Sara Boling, Audrie and Lilah Abe, Kimberly Hart, Alison Derouen, Katie Webb; great grandchildren, Kaden Greening and Paul Solis, Lauren Hart, Sarah Grace, Zachary, and Olivia Derouen, Mila, Avery, Maisie Gayle Webb; Nieces and Nephews, Jeana Hollis Roan (Wes), Jimmy Hollis Jr.; Great Nieces and Nephews, Hollis Anne Shane (Kylen), Kourtney Palmer (Ben), Conner and Catherine Roan, Leslie Douglas (Wes), Sherry Key (Jarrod) ; Great Great Nieces and Nephews, Sawyer, Sutton, Silas, and Slayton Shane, Aniston, Austin, and Blair Palmer, Graham and Lily Kate Douglas, Dayson Connelly.

Joanna was preceded in death by her parents, Clinton and Alberta Hollis, her son, Hollis Paul Slade, and her grandson, David Paul Slade.

Graveside services will be 1:00 Friday, March 26, 2021 at Bethesda Cemetery.
